Bharat Milap

History

Varanasi is a great city of fairs and festivals. At least two festivals are celebrated every month. Everybody wait very eagerly for the coming of new events and next festival. Celebration of the fairs and festivals is going on all round the year, one after another in this holy city, Varanasi. Bharat Milap is also a great event which celebrates between the month of October and November. Bharat Milap is a most important part of the Ramlila festival and celebrated to memorialize the arrival of the Lord Ram to his kingdom known as Ayodhya after his 14 years of banish and get-together with his dearest brother, the Bharat.

Significance

People celebrate this festival in the essence of victory of the nature over evil power. Valmiki and Tulsidas had written the vast history of the Lord Ram in their main writings, the Ramayana and the Ramcharitamanas respectively. The Bharat Milap celebration is celebrated with the huge fanfare and dedication which held at the day next to the Dussehra. This festival is celebrated every year at the Nati Imli place in Varanasi  and Ramnagar fort.

Celebration

The Dussehra and the Bharat Milap festival celebrates yearly and both are of maximum attractions event at Varanasi city. Thousands of pilgrims get together on the lanes to enjoy the pageant of Lord Ram and Bharat Milap. In order to respect them, people put Tilak on their forehead and put flowers garland in their neck. One of the most attractive event of Bharat Milap is the presence of the Kashi Naresh together with his royal belongings and ceremonial dress. Everybody enjoy this festival and fair heartily, they make purchase a lot of things to eat, toys, Idols of Ram, Lakshman, Sita, Bharat, and many more useful things.
